Laser Skin Resurfacing
Dr. Contogiannis offers CO2 and Sciton for laser resurfacing of the skin to treat skin texture, improve skin pigment, and promote skin tightening.
Facial Spider Veins
Both men and women are bothered by facial spider veins. Dr. Contogiannis offers the VersaPulse laser therapy as a treatment for facial spider veins.
Spots and Birthmarks
Unwanted pigment spots on the face or body are a common concern for men and women alike. Birthmarks can also make people of all ages feel self-conscious, and some birthmarks can be treated and removed. Dr. Contogiannis offers laser therapy for reduction or removal of unwanted pigment spots and hemangiomas (birthmarks often called strawberries).
Dr. Contogianis uses multiple-light wavelengths to remove tattoos. It can take several treatments to remove a tattoo, and the success can vary based on your skin tone and the colors of the pigments (inks). Dr. Contogiannis‘ goal is to remove the pigment (ink) without leaving a scar. Dr. Contotiannis does this cautiously, and it takes time.
Laser Hair Reduction
Laser hair reduction has improved dramatically over the past several years. New technology is both safer and more effective. Dr. Contogiannis offers laser hair reduction using the Light Sheer Laser for the face, underarms, bikini, and back. The laser emits a beam of light that passes harmlessly through the skin, where it’s absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles that are in the active growth phase, impairing their ability to grow. This damage causes delayed re-growth of the hair, and in some cases, permanent destruction of many of the hair follicles. While electrolysis kills one hair follicle at a time, the laser reaches hundreds of follicles at a time.
Leg Spider Veins Sclerotherapy
Millions of women are bothered by spider veinsóthose small yet unsightly clusters of red, blue, or purple veins that most commonly appear on the thighs, calves, and ankles. In fact, it’s estimated that at least half of the adult female population is plagued with this common cosmetic problem. Board certified Greensboro plastic surgeon Dr. Contogiannis treats spider veins with sclerotherapy. In this rather simple procedure, veins are injected with a solution that causes them to collapse and fade from view. The procedure may also remedy the bothersome symptoms associated with spider veins, including aching, burning, swelling, and night cramps. There are lasers that can be used to treat some of the smaller spider veins, but they are usually used after sclerotherapy to help treat any residual fine spider veins.
