Bathing and Showering After a Breast Augmentation

During your breast-augmentation recovery period, you will need to avoid certain normal tasks for a time. This is to ensure that no complications arise during your recovery that could put your health at risk.

Showering should be avoided for the first 36 hours after your procedure. You can shower after this period, but be gentle when washing the breasts. You must avoid submerging your breasts in water for a minimum of three to four weeks. That means you cannot get in a bath, swim in a pool, or get in a hot tub.

You will be provided with a thorough list of post-operative instructions after your procedure. Following these instructions will ensure that your recovery goes smoothly. If you are prepared for your breast augmentation, contact the Renaissance Center for Plastic Surgery and Wellness today to schedule a consultation.
