Botox®

What is Involved in Botox® Treatment?

Often considered the granddaddy of dermal fillers, Botox® is used to perform millions of anti-aging procedures around the world every year. It has many uses, but at The Renaissance Center for Plastic Surgery & Wellness, our focus is using Botox® to erase your facial lines and wrinkles, restoring a younger-looking, rejuvenated appearance.

How Much Does Botox® Treatment Cost?

Botox® injections are typically charged by the unit, so your ultimate cost will depend on how many units are used to help you achieve the results you’re looking for.

Your treatment plan will be discussed during your initial visit and you can be given a more accurate cost assessment at that time. Most cosmetic surgeries are not covered by insurance except for functional or medical reasons, so it’s likely you’ll be responsible for full payment of your Botox® treatments.

In an effort to keep our patient procedures as affordable as possible for our clients, we’re pleased to be able to offer financing as an option for your Botox® treatment through Alphaeon® or CareCredit®.

How Does Botox® Work?

Lines and wrinkles on the face, particularly the ones across the forehead—crow’s feet and frown lines—are caused by the repeated contractions of muscles over time.

Botox® is injected into the muscle in one or more of those areas, blocking the signal from the nerve so the muscle is no longer able to contract. This allows the lines and wrinkles to soften and relax, eventually fading away.

What Are the Benefits of Botox®?

Like many cosmetic procedures, the benefits of Botox® surpass the obvious physical ones, as your mental and emotional well-being will also benefit. Some common benefits include:

  • Sharp increase in self-confidence, self-image, and self-esteem
  • Restores a more youthful appearance
  • Reduces or eliminates lines and wrinkles, leaving you with a much smoother complexion
  • Lifts droopy brows, making you look more alert and less tired
  • Minimally invasive and no downtime needed, unlike a surgical intervention such as a facelift or brow lift

Am I a Good Candidate for Botox®?

Most healthy adults with moderate to severe wrinkles and realistic expectations will be good candidates for Botox® treatment. Botox® is generally not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing.

What Can I Expect During Recovery Following Botox®?

There’s no real downtime required after Botox® treatment. Most patients can return to work and normal activities within a few short hours.

Visible results may not be immediate, but should become more noticeable in two or three days. Results continue to improve as time goes on, with optimal results becoming evident after about four weeks.

For best results, it’s important you read and follow the post-procedure instructions you’re given after Botox® treatment.
